Throughout Jessica Lambert‘s impactful journey at Boise State, she has not only immersed herself in the rich opportunities provided by the College of Engineering but has emerged as a transformative force within our academic community.

Her journey of leadership and innovation began early, as she was hired in the Engineering Innovation Studio as an incoming freshman—a testament to her early commitment to academic and professional growth. In this role, she collaborated with her peers to solve intricate problems. Her influence extended to shaping the studio’s infrastructure, overseeing the integration of new technologies such as 3D printers, and updating safety protocols, thereby enriching the learning experience for her fellow students.

Her commitment to excellence continued at the New Product Development Lab, where she took on the roles of mentorship and leadership. Remarkably, she began managing a team within the New Product Development Lab even before her graduation. Her adeptness at delivering effective solutions within varying constraints and her collaborative approach in leading multidisciplinary projects underscored her prowess in both design and prototyping.

Beyond her technical contributions, Jessica’s advocacy for the student body and her efforts to connect students with opportunities throughout the College of Engineering highlight her dedication to the holistic growth of her peers. As she transitions into her new role as Group Manager for the New Product Development Lab at Studio\Blu, her early foray into team management and her commitment to enhancing experiential learning opportunities for future students showcase a continued dedication to the success of the College of  Engineering. We celebrate not only her academic achievements but also her outstanding leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our academic community. Ian Jensen, a US Navy veteran with four years of experience as an Aviation Powerplants Technician, brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of leadership to our academic community. This experience laid the foundation for his subsequent role as a leader within the engineering community.

For nearly three years, Ian has served as a supervisor in the Engineering Innovation Studio, a position that exemplifies his exceptional leadership qualities. In this capacity, he has played a pivotal role not only in guiding and mentoring students within the Engineering Innovation Studio but has also emerged as a beacon for other shop supervisors. His ability to lead by example, foster a collaborative environment, and inspire his peers has made a profound impact on the fabric of our academic community. Today, we celebrate not only his accomplishments but also the transformative leadership qualities that have left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to work alongside him.

Throughout his academic journey, Jose Escobosa has not only embraced the challenges of interdisciplinary research but has excelled in pushing the boundaries of knowledge across multiple departments.

As an undergraduate research assistant in both mechanical and civil engineering, he has showcased his versatility. In the realm of mechanical engineering, he delved into the intricacies of plasma-generating devices, contributing to advancements in this cutting-edge field. Simultaneously, within civil engineering, he has made contributions to the development and design of experimental devices.

Beyond the confines of our campus, Jose has taken his passion to new heights as an intern with the NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium. His dedication to exploring the frontiers of aerospace technology aligns seamlessly with his role as a founding member of Mach Dynamix. This innovative group, committed to developing new types of duct engines with integrated turbojet, ramjet, and scramjet capabilities, epitomizes Jose’s visionary approach to research and technological advancement. Today, we celebrate not only his accomplishments but the promising trajectory he’s set for the future of research and innovation.

With a nearly perfect GPA, William McKinney has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to academic excellence throughout his college journey.

Beyond the confines of the classroom, William has been a driving force in transformative projects, notably in the realm of robotics. His involvement in FIRST robotics and vertically integrated projects underscores not only technical prowess but also a dedication to collaborative innovation. As a peer educator for Thermofluids II, he not only mastered complex subjects but also shared his expertise with fellow students, embodying the spirit of academic camaraderie.

Looking ahead, William is poised to embark on a new chapter, pursuing graduate studies in robotics. This choice reflects his unwavering passion and commitment to education.
