About Mahmood Mamivand
Bio
Dr. Mahmood Mamivand is an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at Boise State University. Dr. Mamivand’s research focuses on developing physics-based and data-driven models to understand the inter-relationships between chemistry, processing, structure, and property in materials. At Boise State University, Dr. Mamivand established the Informatics Skunkworks Vertically Integrated Project in which more than 70 undergraduate students participated in hands-on machine learning projects through authentic research. Dr. Mamivand is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award. Dr. Mamivand received his PhD from Mississippi State University where he was the first recipient of the Distinguished Graduate Scholar award from Bagley College of Engineering.
Dr. Mamivand is the director of Computational Materials Design lab.
