Funding

One way of funding your graduate education is a Graduate Assistantship (GA). A GA will cover tuition costs, health care premiums, and provide a competitive annual stipend. Funding for GA positions is available though (1) the MBE department, or (2) from individual faculty members who are supervising grant-funded projects. The GA positions funded from the MBE department require a combination of teaching and research, whereas the GA positions funded from individual faculty members are focused on research. If accepted into the program, the Graduate Admissions Committee can provide applicants with information regarding any potential funding opportunities. Please be aware that offers of financial support are competitive.

Applicants are encouraged to contact ME faculty members who are doing work in areas that align with their own research interests about potential GA funding. Feel free to contact faculty members before or after submitting your application. Job announcements for GA funding may also be posted below.

  • MBE Graduate Assistantship: This MBE department is hiring a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the 2021-2022 academic year (Aug-Jul). This position includes a $24k stipend, tuition waivers, and health care premiums; and the position may be renewed for an additional year based on satisfactory performance. Any students accepted into the ME graduate program can apply (if your application is under review, you can also apply). Preference will be given to students pursuing a thesis-based M.S. degree. More information about this position can be found here. To apply, complete the online form. The review process will begin on April 16th; and will continue until the position is filled.
