About Hannah O'Hern
Dr. Hannah O’Hern received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa. During her undergraduate degree, Hannah was very active in a charitable student organization that designed and fabricated assistive devices for people with physical challenges. After completing her Master’s degree studying hybrid solar thermal and photovoltaic solar energy collection, she moved to Bend, Oregon to research hydraulic fracturing wastewater treatment as part of her PhD research. In her research she developed physics-guided artificial neural networks to reduce the computational cost of accurately calculating the performance of thermofluid systems. She was one of the first three candidates to receive their PhD at the OSU-Cascades campus. Dr. O’Hern is thrilled to join Boise State University as a lecturer with a focus on encouraging students to get involved in organizations and helping them become better engineers.
