About Chris Davis
Bio
My first degree is in aviation maintenance and science, after working on business jets for a few years and working closely with the Mechanical Engineering team I decided to go back to school to earn my BSME degree (2016). In 2011 I learned a lot as an engineering tech at BOB trailers and when they moved I took the skills learned there to run the Student Machine Shop (Currently named Innovation Studio). As the shop manager from 2011-2015, I set up the current safety protocol system designed the curriculum used to teach ME260 and taught ME260 from 2012 to 2017.
In 2014 I was promoted to Support Engineer for the College of Engineering. In this role I get to work with students and professors, helping them design and build the research devices that are critical to their research. I have been lucky to mentor some amazing students in the research field as well as SAE Mini Baja. I am currently teaching ME 187 (Graphics Communication with Solidworks) and I absolutely love teaching this class. In Spring 2021 I will earn my third degree, a Masters in Business Administration. With this degree, I hope to take COEN research support to even higher achievements.
