Minors & Certificates

Now you can show off what you know!

Have a passion for programming? Love exploring the organic machine we call our body? Love looking at the big picture of how things get done? Or maybe you want to share what you know with others!

A minor or certificate will document your area of interest and expertise to show others that you know your stuff.

Minors and emphasis

A minor is a group of classes directed at specific subject matter. While it has its own requirements, it still must be combined with a major/degree program. A minor appears on your official transcript and adds another layer of professional credentials to your degree, enhancing your resume and opportunities in today’s competitive employment field.

Certificates

A certificate is an added endorsement of emphasis work in a particular area. Unlike a minor, a certificate does not appear on your diploma and is generally fewer credits. While a minor has to be earned at the same time as your degree, you can earn a certificate if you are on a different catalog and even after graduation. The current curriculum is aligned to allow you to earn many certificates with your elective courses.
