Boise State University Fleet Services manages and services all of the trailers for the university. This department needs a device that can safely and quickly assist in moving trailers by hand. Trailers up to 24 feet in length and 2000 pounds in weight need to be moved less than 300 yards with this device. This device needs to be able to withstand Idaho’s range of weather conditions, work over uneven pavement and dirt, and only require one person to operate. Currently, trailers are often moved by hand from behind the shop to inside the garage for maintenance. The current method of moving trailers by hand poses a safety hazard and health risks in the form of overexertion, pinched fingers, and crushed limbs.
