Lake Ethel Pond

This is a redesign of the current Lakeview Park in Nampa, ID made with the expressed purpose of using the park as a swimming hole fed by Mason Creek. Currently, the park is separated into two distinct parks by 16th  Avenue which is major arterial with heavy traffic. To protect pedestrians and bridge the two parks, a shallow tunnel is being designed so that no conflict between pedestrians and vehicles can occur while not sacrificing travel time. Another noticeable feature of the park is its namesake, Lake Ethel. Lake Ethel was the name of the original lake in that location that was used to store irrigation water. The lake was dismantled decades ago. As such, it is a perfect place for a recreational swimming area considering the site is already well suited for the purpose. Also included are two other structures; a bathroom and an outdoor amphitheater. The amphitheater can be used for social and community events.
