The Mechanical Adaptations Laboratory is seeking applicants for an undergraduate student to work in the research lab.
Project description
This project focuses on developing tissue-engineering technologies to study bone mechanical environments. These findings will ultimately help improve clinical outcomes related to unloading-related bone loss in astronauts, aged individuals with osteoporosis.
Mechanical adaptations Laboratory is seeking motivated individuals to design experimental apparatus that will fly to International Space Station on Earth’s Orbit. Students will work with other team members to gain expertise in state-of-the-art technology, including Finite Element Modeling, 3D Printing of Biological Materials, Biomechanical Testing, Microscopy, and Bioreactor technology. Our team is working with a professional engineering firm to implement the orbit modules. This will be a perfect opportunity to gain experience in working with professionals towards a high-importance deliverable.
Excellent candidates will be will currently be at least a sophomore in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Material Science) and Science (Physics, Biological Sciences) that are hardworking, well organized with a positive work attitude.
