Automated Crack Inspection Through Visual Processing
Currently in the industry of building inspection, operators must utilize climbing equipment and subjective crack measuring devices. This poses both an elevated danger to operators as well as an unscientific method of characterizing the safety of buildings. Pitch Aeronautics has tasked team SKYCRK with the challenge of designing and producing a high-performing and flexible sensor package to integrate onto their Cyclorotor Drone for industrial structure inspection. Team SKYCRK has produced a standalone device leveraging advanced image processing with accurate time of flight data. This will then lay the foundation for future iterations of crack inspection and characterization equipment.
