The Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking multiple undergraduate students to serve as CTL Student Partners. This is an exciting new program, in which students will play a key role in creating a more equitable, welcoming, and inclusive experience for students in Boise State classes.
As a Student Partner you will:
- Work closely with a member of the faculty to improve the student experience in a particular course, offering feedback to your faculty partner based on your perspective as a student, as well as on information you’ll gather from students in the course.
- Help instructors to understand how students are experiencing their classes.
- Serve as a thought partner in considering strategies for responding to student feedback.
If you’re a motivated student with strong communication and organizational skills, and you have a strong interest in both equity and the learner experience in Boise State courses, we’d love to hear from you! We’re especially interested in applications from first-generation-to-college students, students from rural communities, students who have worked hard to be able to afford college, and students from minoritized groups who are interested in helping to make Boise State a place that’s more responsive to their needs as learners.
CTL Student Partner Benefits:
- Gain valuable professional experience with teaching strategies, critical analysis, collaboration, communication, leadership, and research skills.
- Meaningfully contribute to the student experience at Boise State University
- Build close relationships with Boise State faculty members and staff of the Center for Teaching and Learning.
The position will offer $15/hour, and in the spring semester Student Partners will work 10-12 hours/week. Employment will begin in October/November of 2023, on a reduced schedule, with training and development beginning in preparation for the Spring term.
A full description of the position, as well as instructions for applicants, can be found on Handshake (look for posting #8290938, “Center for Teaching and Learning Student Partner”). We will begin reviewing applications on October 22nd, 2023. If you have any questions, please email Dan Sanford atdanielsanford@boisestate.edu.
