About the Position:
We have an opening this summer for a Mechanical Engineering student to assist our Engineering Department. This is an Intern position for students interested in learning more about their field of study and how it will apply in the real world. This is a paid, part-time, hourly position, not eligible for company benefits. The time frame will be approx. June thru August of 2022.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will report to the Engineering Manager and involves assisting the Product Engineering team with any one or more of the following activities:
- Support product improvement, cost reduction, and design change activity.
- Provide documentation support such as drafting, creation of bills of materials (BOM’S), processing work tickets, and production folders.
- Light engineering work, solid modeling work supporting the activity mentioned above. Pedigo currently utilizes Solid Edge, vs. 2022 3D Modeling Software.
- Assist in processing Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) as requested.
- Assist in the design and assembly of test fixtures as needed.
- Assist in setting up test fixtures and tests in the Test Engineering Lab.
- Completion of tests and writing of test reports.
- Assist in assembly of prototype parts / products.
- Assist in measurement of first article parts and support other aspects of Quality Assurance.

- Be actively seeking a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology at an Accredited University.
- Have ability to collaborate well with others in the Engineering department and other departments such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.
- Have the willingness to learn technical activities related to the field.
- Be highly organized, have ability to handle multiple tasks, and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
- Be a good team player.
This is an excellent opportunity for ME or MET students to shadow professionals in the field and obtain hands-on work experience.
