“After a bout of inactivity, Boise State’s Competitive Cybersecurity and Cyber-physical Club (C^4) is back! Our first meeting will be held on February 19th from 2 pm to 4 pm. You can attend in person in the Clearwater Building conference room 368 or via zoom (https://boisestate.zoom.us/j/95117346404?pwd=R3ZIdjVlZVRSNTZza0c1UTcybG00Zz09). There will be donuts and speakers to introduce the club, discuss cybersecurity, the current workforce, and its opportunities.
C^4 is a club made by and for students of any department and major with an interest in cybersecurity, whether offensive or defensive, to create a place for us to discuss and learn more and investigate all the ways it impacts our society and lives. We meet frequently to discuss events, learn concepts and theories, and practice with different techniques and toolkits. We want to develop our knowledge and get experience in a safe and (importantly!) legal environment for messing around with software, hardware, and computer systems, and provide a place for everyone interested in local, regional, and national cybersecurity-focused competitions to meet, collaborate, and compete– whether veterans of competition or completely new to the field.
The C^4 team will have meeting times open to learning and discussion as well as meeting times for people interested in getting more involved and competing in events like HackASat and Cyberforce as the team has done in the past. This is a great opportunity for students to branch out of their current fields and help connect them to current job and internship opportunities. We are also looking to fill multiple leadership roles in the club’s organization for those looking to get even more involved in club proceedings.
You can join the groups Discord through the BSU server hub, or email the club liaison at Meganlaing@boisestate.edu with any questions.
We hope to see you there!”
