Perspectives on Engineering Careers course

Do you hope to one day work in an engineering, science, or technical field? Do you feel lost as you navigate exploring opportunities and networking to prepare for your future (or ongoing) job search? Enroll this fall in ENGR 398 – Perspectives on Engineering Careers!

For the fall semester, Dr. Scott Phillips has invited individuals from local employers and national companies to speak. There will be no required homework or exams – you get exactly what you put into this 1 credit P/F course. Hybrid format allows for flexible attendance

Speakers representing the following companies (and others) are planned:

  • Nike
  • 3M
  • Avery Dennison (pressure-sensitive adhesives and labels)
  • Akita Innovations (a contract research firm)
  • Food Physics (pulsed electric field for food processing)
  • SGW Designworks (a rapid prototyping firm)
  • Lone Cone/Ridgeline Insights (will give a presentation on startups and entrepreneurship)
  • Azek (sustainable plastics company coming to the Treasure Valley)
  • PPG (paints)
  • Gore (as in Gore-Tex)
  • Slant 3D (a production 3D printing company)
