Undergraduate Research
Undergraduate students have a unique opportunity to work closely with internationally recognized faculty members in a variety of research groups from several disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, and more. Students gain hands-on learning and research experience by working in our laboratories as part of a research group. Undergrads collaborate with grad students, research faculty, and peers to complete real-world research that matters.
Education through research is a hallmark of our academic programs and there are substantive research opportunities in varying disciplines within Materials Science and Engineering. Your education encompasses the guiding principles of materials science which include structure, processing, properties and performance. We also facilitate leadership opportunities through education and research.
