Interdisciplinary Graduate Program

Materials Science & Engineering

Preparing students for advanced professional opportunities in Materials Science & Engineering

Interdisciplinary Graduate Program

As an interdisciplinary program, Materials Science and Engineering unites researchers in science and engineering fields. Students have the opportunity to work alongside faculty mentors to advance their scientific knowledge, make technical contributions to the field, and promote their career opportunities in many different areas. Program graduates are well prepared to enter a wide range of fields across academia, industry, and government research.

The Doctorate of Philosophy and Master of Science Programs in Materials Science & Engineering are research-based programs designed for full-time students. All students in these programs work with a research advisor and conduct academic research in addition to completing coursework and experiential learning opportunities.

The Masters of Engineering and Graduate Certificate Programs are course-work based programs. Most students pursuing these programs are completing courses while also working full-time at a relevant professional position.
