All living organisms, from animals to single cells, adapt to environmental challenges to survive and function. In this way, lineage decisions of multipotential mesenchymal stem cells that rejuvenate and repair tissues of mesenchymal origin (muscle, bone, cartilage and fat) are subject to control by mechanical factors.
Our goal is to establish causative relationships of how mechanical signals are transduced at cellular level with the motivation to provide non-pharmacologic solutions to musculoskeletal decline through leveraging stem cell mechanobiology.
