Envisioning Future Smart Health Technologies

October 9 @ 10:30 am - 11:45 am

This week our featured guest speaker is Dr. Nazmus Sakib, Assistant Professor of Information Technology at Kennesaw State University. Dr. Sakib’s research is dedicated to leveraging technology’s potential to revolutionize healthcare and enhance learning experiences. Join us to learn more about how his research uses AI to advance healthcare.

Abstract

The increasing digitalization of healthcare opens exciting new possibilities for improving patient outcomes and enhancing overall public health. In this talk, we’ll explore how two innovative projects of the mHealth Lab at Kennesaw State University, ScreenSafeFuture, and SafeCircle, aim to leverage advanced technologies to address critical challenges in healthcare. ScreenSafeFuture is designed to address screen addiction in young children by empowering parents with tools to regulate screen time and promote healthy development. On the other hand, SafeCircle focuses on improving safety for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related disorders through a privacy-conscious, AI-enabled monitoring system that detects falls and wandering episodes. Both projects represent a forward-thinking approach, blending technological innovation with user-centric design to address significant healthcare challenges and ultimately improve the quality of life for diverse populations.
