The idea for the new semiconductor course Chip, Chip, Hooray! originated in 2023 with Dr. Sin Ming Loo, a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department and Director of the Cyber Operations and Resilience Program at Boise State. His vision to integrate microelectronic education into K-12 classrooms across Idaho landed the $5 million Semiconductor for All grant, leading to the development of Boise State’s new Institute for Microelectronics Education and Research.
