Each year, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boise State is asked to nominate two students to receive the Outstanding Junior award for the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers. This year, Joshua Hatch and Ellie Schlake were nominated for their academic excellence and overall involvement. After a rigorous selection process, the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers has named ECE major Joshua Hatch as their Outstanding Junior this year.
Hatch joined Boise State in 2018 and is working to earn his bachelor of science in electrical engineering with a secondary education endorsement and a minor in Mathematics. When asked about the honor, Hatch noted that there are a lot of good students in the program worthy of the award, including his fellow nominee, and he is grateful to be recognized. The award includes a $50 gift, which Hatch says he fully intends to spend on his three-week-old daughter.
