Bio

I am a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Boise State University.  I became interested in computer science education during my undergraduate years when I taught computer science summer camps to 4th – 7th grade students. I went on to pursue my master’s degree in computer science so I could continue teaching at the college level. While earning my master’s degree, I began working with a company called CodeHS to develop computer science curriculum for primary and secondary school students.  I taught one semester at University of California, Irvine before accepting a position at Orange Coast College in Orange County, California.  I spent five years there before coming to Boise State University.

When I’m not teaching, I keep myself busy with various hobbies.  I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy novels, with Douglas Adams being one of my favorite authors.  I also enjoy trying my hand at various crafts like embroidery and crocheting.  Finally, being physically active is very important to me.  You can often find me running, biking, hiking, swimming, paddling, lifting, etc.
