Three years ago (2013-14) there were 31, this year (2016-17) there were 86.
On May 6th, 2017 during Boise State University’s 100th commencement ceremony, the same number of students joined the Boise State CS alumni ranks as had joined previously from the classes of 2014 and 2015 combined. With 70 Bachelor’s and 16 Master’s degrees in Computer Science conferred, the Class of 2017 begins their likely short reign as the largest class in department history. Many in this class, however, will get to carry the honor of being the first class to graduate on The Blue forever.
Before the graduation festivities, the Department of Computer Science hosted its annual graduation celebration and presented Outstanding Student Awards to undergraduate students Jiahang Li and Dan Kondratyuk and graduate students Nevena Dragovic and Ion Madrazo. This award, voted on by the computer science faculty body, recognizes two graduating students from the Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science programs for outstanding undergraduate achievements.
We’re excited to see the Class of 2017 in action, running into them in the streets of Downtown Boise’s vibrant software ecosystem or perhaps elsewhere on the other side of the world. Congratulations graduates!
