Sixth graders from Lowell Scott Middle School stopped by Boise State University’s Computer Science Department on Friday for an educational day all about the department’s work and its application in their day to day lives.
From taking apart a computer and learning about how each part works to testing out the virtual reality goggles in the visualization lab, the students gained some hands-on experience with technology in the Treasure Valley.
Encouraging an interest in computer science and other STEM fields is vital for K-12 students, and the department was very excited to be involved in this opportunity!
