Mission
The central mission of the CME laboratory is to leverage thermodynamics for societal good. This means understanding the factors that govern molecular self-assembly, and using that knowledge to engineer materials for generating energy, storing data, or curing disease. We use molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, and other statistical sampling techniques to study problems related to organic solar cells, DNA self-assembly, colloids, and pattern formation, in collaboration with chemists, physicists, biologists, and computer scientists.
