About Nick Hudyma

Bio

Dr. Nick Hudyma joined the faculty of the Department of Civil Engineering at Boise State University in the Fall of 2019. Prior to Boise State, he worked at the University of North Florida where he was involved in various research and teaching activities. His research interests include the characterization of brittle materials using destructive testing, non-destructive testing, imaging, and simulations; imaging applications for geotechnical engineering and construction; and the assessment of surface roughness for quantifying weathering in rock. Dr. Hudyma received his Ph.D. in Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering Specialty) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1999. He is a member of the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA), the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG), the International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG), the United States Council on Geotechnical Education and Research (USUCGER), the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), the International Society of Rock Mechanics (ISRM), and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
