There were 290 COBE students and 30 employers at the COBE Career Fair Mixer event.

COBE’s Career Services hosted a mixer at the Stueckle Sky Center the night before the campus-wide Career Fair on Oct. 15. The event allowed students to meet employers one-on-one in a less formal setting and get free professional headshots taken.

COBE Career Services carefully selected employers with open jobs or internship opportunities and strong reputations for their company culture and hiring practices. There were 30 companies in attendance with 68 employer representatives, and 22 of the reps were COBE alumni. Almost 300 COBE students attended, and a number of those students have already reached out to COBE Career Services for interview prep guidance because they found job leads at the mixer.

Employers shared positive feedback on the event:

“Thank you for including us in the mixer. It was the most effective event for connecting students with employers that I have ever been to…Well done!” – Corey Krueger, VP of WSCL Group; West Coast Logistics

“This was my first time attending a networking event at BSU and I was really impressed.” – Casey Chasse, University recruiting specialist, Lamb Weston

“I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for allowing USLI to participate during last week’s recruiting events and panel discussion. Throughout the week, I observed the students’ high energy and professionalism. Our team was fortunate to engage with several impressive attendees, familiarize them with USLI and discuss opportunities in the insurance industry. I was particularly impressed by the students’ quality questions and level of preparation.” – Nathan Giersch, VP Regional Branch Leader, USLI

October is a primary recruiting month, as employers are looking to fill internships and full-time positions scheduled to start in May. Simplot, ESI and Fisher Investments sponsored the mixer.
