Two COBE students were selected to participate in the Undergraduate Poster Competition at the annual Association of Private Enterprise Education (APEE) Conference held in Las Vegas in March.
Jillian Lumbert, human resources management major, presented her work “The State of the Leaf: The Uprising of the U.S. Cannabis Industry.”
Management major Jennie Oman’s poster was titled “The Essential Leviathan: Understanding CEO Pay.”
Also attending the conference were Allen Dalton, economics adjunct faculty, who organized the trip and secured the funding; and master of economics 2018 Outstanding Graduate, Jennifer Moore.
This is the fifth consecutive years that Boise State undergraduate students have been able to attend the conference and the fourth consecutive year that at least one student has been selected to participate in the Undergraduate Poster Competition.
All three students received support to attend the conference from the Charles Koch Foundation.
The Association of Private Enterprise Education (APEE) is an association of teachers and scholars from colleges and universities, public policy institutes, and industry with a common interest in studying and supporting the system of private enterprise. APEE hosts an annual conference for members to share their scholarly findings and offers a number of awards to recognize individuals who have contributed to the cause of private enterprise. Support for young scholars is often available to attend the annual conference. The association sponsors the Journal of Private Enterprise so scholars may share their research with the wider academic community.
