Director General of the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office Visits Boise State

On Wednesday, November 30, Boise State University President Robert Kustra, Provost Martin Schimpf and College of Business and Economics Dean Ken Petersen were honored to host the recently appointed Director-General of the Seattle Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Vincent C.H. Yao and Deputy Director Chen-chi Wu. The Seattle TECO Office covers Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, and the visit to Boise was Director-General Yao’s first major trip outside of Seattle. Discussions included business, cultural, and technological exchanges and underscored Idaho’s growing importance on multiple fronts around the globe.

Also present were TechHelp’s Steve Hatten and Bill Mullane, the Center for Global Education’s Corrine Henke, Jack Marr, COBE faculty; and Chris Brown, a graduating senior in mechanical engineering. Brown showcased work he did for VersaBuilt (a company that has built and installed robotic machine tenders for Rekluse Motor Sports) while employed at TechHelp New Product Development Lab.
