When should I apply for admission to COBE?
You should complete the COBE Admissions Application while enrolled in the final semester of gateway course(s). During this time you will go into a “COBE-Pending” or provisional status until your final gateway course(s) are successfully completed. To ensure that your application is processed in time for the following semester, please see the deadlines below.
- Fall Semester: Apply by October 1st.Â
- Spring Semester: Apply by March 1st.
- Summer: Apply by February 1st
What if I am a transfer student who has already met the admission requirements?
Students who are transferring with all of the gateway courses met with a C- or better, 30 credits, and a minimum COBE Gateway GPA of 2.5 should apply to COBE after being admitted to Boise State University and meeting with a COBE advisor.
Is there a fee to apply?
Yes. There is a $25 processing fee for each application.
When will IÂ know if I am accepted to take upper division
Admission approval or denial will be emailed to your BroncoMail email address within 1-2 weeks of applying.
What if I only want to minor in business?
If you are looking for a minor in general business we highly encourage you to check out our +Business minor program. Most other COBE minors do require COBE Admission.
Does my COBE Admission status expire?
Your COBE Admission status will remain active for up to 1 year after discontinuation. If you have been inactivated from the Boise State system and are returning please contact COBE Advising.
Is the GPA requirement negotiable?
No. All students are required to have a 2.5 Gateway GPA for admission.
What if I am a non-business major and want to take COBE upper division courses that are not part of the open courses for students?
You must go through the application process if you desire to take upper division business courses outside of the designated open courses.
