Most Online MBA students selected, and were admitted to the program, with an area of emphasis. However, if you’re looking to change your emphasis area, here’s what you need to know:
The program currently offers MBA specializations in Management, Construction Management, Healthcare Leadership, Marketing Leadership, Finance, Business Analytics, and Cyber Operations. Students can also choose to complete a General MBA (with no emphasis).
While all current students can potentially change to one of these areas, every situation is different. It may be more difficult for those who have already taken certain elective courses. If you’re on the general MBA (no emphasis) track, you are welcome to mix and match electives from all emphasis area classes offered.
To officially change your emphasis area, please follow these steps –
- Contact your advisor via email to discuss your degree plan and impacts of a switch.
- Fill out the OMBA Emphasis Update Form. Once this form has been submitted, you will be sent detailed information about the electronic University “Program Change Form” that will need to be completed for processing. It should take less than 5 minutes to complete and will be sent to your BroncoMail (u.boisestate.edu) account. NOTE: If you are a current student, your OMBA emphasis area will not change automatically based on the elective courses you take. Your emphasis must be changed in the University system to officially be listed on your transcripts and diploma.
- After your Program Change Request form is completed and signed, you will receive a confirmation of the emphasis area change in approximately 1-3 weeks.
