In this video, students talk about what they liked and learned in the marketing 401 and 402 classes.

[Student 1] I talked to my friends about this class. The way of explaining it, is that it is true — it’s the hardest class I have taken.
(music plays with scenes of students working together, writing on white boards and working on computers creating presentations.)
[Student 2] The way I like to describe it is the client working class — it’s really prepackaged and you’re within like kind of a safe playground area that is totally wide open so the main valuable thing I’ve learned is just really what it would be like working at an agency in the future.
[Student 3] It’s really cool to get to see the advertising world and getting to make our own little advertising agency. I think it honestly helped me decide what I want to do.
[Student 4] You know how the rest of your classes supposedly teach how to collaborate with people — this class really teaches you how to collaborate with a lot of different types of personalities.
[Student 5] It’s bad ass, tons of work but it pays off.

[Student 5] Getting to an insight, that was the challenge. Honestly, to be completely honest with you, I felt like I was… I did not know what I was doing.
[Student 6] It was hard to hear “no” a lot. You know we come up with these great ideas and they are like, “No to do more research, No, do this.” You hear “no” a lot. It was really tough.
[Student 7] I think the high point was going to Seattle.
[Student 8] It was really valuable for me to see everyone win and know that we got second place and that our hard work paid off.
[Student 4] I’m so proud of the work that we did that I was like ready to shout it from the rooftops and go present to show people.
[Student 1] The friendships that I’ve built and the people that I’ve met and got pretty deep with because we go through a lot together and it was also a really cool experience as well. Even though it seems intimidating because it sounds hard; it’s projected to be hard. It is hard but it is so so so worth it.
[Student 7] This is definitely one of the most time-consuming classes I’ve ever had. I spent so much time outside of the class but it was also the most rewarding. I got a lot out of it and this is the closest thing to the real world.
[Student 9] It’s definitely the best experience that I’ve had throughout all of college and I’ve already gone through three years of college at this point. I think I’ve learned the most out of my entire college career in this class.
[Student 10] I did some time at an ad agency. It was really cool because I got to get inside the mind of the creative director a little bit more to see the different thought processes that go into coming up with a campaign.
[Student 6] She (the creative director) really brought something new to the table and it’s fresh. She’s just awesome herself and she’s a rock star – and she has allowed us to be the best person that we could be and she brought it out in us.
