Internships

Students who are interested in an internship or have questions about a current internship should contact the internships coordinators below.

Business administration, Entrepreneurship Management, and Human Resources internship questions should be directed to Timothy Dunne, timothydunne@boisestate.edu

International Business internship questions should be directed to Jack Marr, jackmarr@boisestate.edu

Internship Benefits

Students can receive academic credit for management-related internships.

  • Internships count as Boise State electives
    • Freshman and sophomores: MGMT 293, HRM 293, or ENTREP 293
    • Juniors and seniors: MGMT 493, HRM 493, or ENTREP 493
  • Typical Internship: 135+ work hours for 3 credit hours, 1 credit hour per 45 hours worked.
  • Internship credit hours count toward the 128 credit hours needed for graduation.

Internships for Academic Credit

You can find internships at COBE Career Services’ Internship Board or you can find internships on your own.

  • Once you have found an internship opportunity for credit, fill out the application for academic credit. Log in using your my.boisestate.edu username and password.
  • Accept the student agreement
  • Create an application
  • Enter the required information—job description and contact information
  • You may “save” and return later
  • Hit “submit” – the status of your internship will be “Awaiting Department Internship Coordinator Approval”
  • Your major’s Internship Coordinator (Gundy Kaupins or Bastian Thomsen) and your internship supervisor must approve your proposal
  • You will be notified by e-mail that your internship has been accepted (or rejected)
