Logan Steele is an assistant professor of management in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University. He earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and a B.A. in Psychology from Whitworth University.

Steele’s research examines leadership and social comparisons: how do people’s perceptions of their disadvantages shape their behaviors and outcomes in organizations, and how do leaders strategically influence these perceptions? In pursuing this research agenda, he uses a broad set of methods, including lab and field experiments, surveys, meta-analysis, as well as qualitative methods. Steele has published his work in top-tier academic journals including, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, and The Leadership Quarterly.

Steele is also an award-winning teacher. Through a flipped-classroom approach, he focuses on helping students develop knowledge and skills that they can quickly apply in their careers and use to positively impact their communities. Steele teaches People Analytics and Staffing and Training at the undergraduate level.
