Before joining Boise State University, Shelly was faculty at the College of Western Idaho for 10 years. She taught information science, business statistics, introduction to business and capstone courses during that time.
Shelly received a bachelor of arts in mathematics and chemistry education in 2004 and a master of business administration in 2007 from Northwest Nazarene University. She was also an adjunct instructor in the business program at NNU from 2007-2009.
Prior to teaching at CWI, Shelly spent time in a range of various business roles. She has worked as a consultant in Total Quality Management helping companies improve processes and understanding workflows that affect the bottom line. Shelly has enjoyed positions in banking and lending as well as working with real estate agents. In all her endeavors she has focused on education and teaching those around her in various levels and roles. Teaching at the college level is a passion and she loves the opportunity to work with students.
Shelly is married and has two sons. In her spare time she likes to read, play video games, board games and card games. She and her husband owned a local game store for a few years and occasionally host game nights at their home.
