Lecture Series

Department Lectures

Department lectures are held 3-4 times per semester and includes presentations from invited speakers, economics faculty and graduate students covering a broad range of topics.

Adam Smith Lectures

Once a year, usually in February, Adam Smith Lectures host academics with interdisciplinary research on Adam Smith’s foundational work in economics. Visit the Adam Smith Lectures webpage for up-coming and past speakers.

Brandt Foundation Lectures

The Brandt lecture series happens once a year usually in November.

Visit the Brandt Foundation Lectures website for the up-coming speaker and for links to view past lectures.

The purpose of the Brandt Foundation Lectures is to bring noted speakers to our campus who have made important contributions to public understanding of individual liberty, free markets, limited government, and the Constitution.

The inaugural lecture was in 2004 when Nobel Laureate James M. Buchanan spoke. Brandt lectures have attracted large audiences and contributed significantly to Boise State University and the larger community.
