Title: Insights from a Combinatorial Model of Creativity

Abstract: Creativity, or problem finding and problem solving, is central to innovation and economic progress, but it remains somewhat of a mystery. Evidence strongly supports creativity as a dynamic state rather than a static trait, and behavioral economics can shed light onto the factors that affect individual and team creativity. This talk shares ongoing research exploring how individuals and organizations can cultivate greater creative know-how (i.e., creative capital) through diversity, communication, and experiential learning.

Cort Rodet Ph.D. is an associate professor at Ohio University. Join us for our first Fall 2024 Economics Department seminar for a covering behavioral economics and combinatorial models of creativity. The seminar is open to the public and all students are encouraged to attend. You can learn more about Cort’s research HERE.
