Rhys Cooper has been recognized as a Boise State University Top 10 Scholar. Rhys‘s unwavering commitment to his motto, “strive to always be a learner, not just a student,” is inspiring. His drive propelled him to pursue numerous academic endeavors and personal pursuits.
Rhys graduated in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Economics and was the Outstanding Graduate in the Department of Economics. He is in the accelerated economics graduate program and is set to complete his Master of Science in Economics in 2025.
He is an active member of the Boise State community, president of the Economics Association, was the economics Signature Student in 2023 and volunteered as the local program coordinator for the Idaho Special Olympics.
Rhys also worked as a research assistant alongside Rafael Ribas. Rhys said the experience was vital to his future goals of working in government to influence and create policies to help communities.
He did all these things while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. He is well prepared for the future.
