On October 14, 2019, the Economics Association brought William Harbaugh, a professor of economics at the University of Oregon, to campus.
Harbaugh works in the field of Neuroeconomics, the study of how economic behavior can shape our understanding of the brain, and how neuroscientific discoveries can constrain and guide models in economics. His presentation was titled “Using Brain Scans to Test Economic Models of Altruism.”
After the lecture, select students, Economics Association advisor, Allen Dalton and Harbaugh enjoyed dinner in downtown Boise.
