Speaking on: Tax Policy Update December 6, 2024

Jeff has over 24 years of experience in the tax policy arena and is currently responsible for communicating emerging tax developments in the U.S. Congress, the Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department, and the federal courts to the Firm and its clients. Jeff oversees the content development of Tax News & Views as well as thought leadership publications on issues such as the U.S. deficit and fundamental tax reform.

His Capitol Hill experience includes working on tax and budget issues for former U.S. Senator and Senate Finance Committee member Steve Symms, R-Idaho.

Jeff holds a BS in Political Science from the University of Idaho and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Speaking on: Business Ethics: How We Decide What is “Right”

Ruth earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and practiced law in Stamford, Connecticut for 11 years, focusing on real estate development, commercial and zoning construction, food service, and grocery retailing. Ruth moved into academia in 2004 and taught at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business for 12 years. In 2016, she joined the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University. In recognition of her work in business ethics and sustainability, she was appointed the college’s first Robert V. Hansberger Endowed Chair of Business Ethics in 2022. She teaches courses in sustainability, sustainable business strategy, ethics, and the legal environment of business. Her research focuses on the nexus of public and private institutions in regulatory governance, both domestically and internationally, and especially as applied to sustainability issues. She has published articles in the George Washington International Law Review, the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative LawConnecticut Journal of International Law, the American Business Law Journal, Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal, and the University of Baltimore Law Review. Professor Jebe serves on the editorial board of the American Business Law Journal, a peer reviewed business law review.

Hayley is a senior manager with Deloitte in Boise and has over eight years of audit and accounting experience serving a variety of both public and private clients, primarily in the power & utilities and consumer & industrial products industries. Also has experience in employee benefit plan audits. Enjoys cheering on both the Denver and Boise State Broncos.

Sean is a senior manager in Deloitte’s Boise office and has over eleven years of experience serving a variety of clients in a variety of industries. Serves clients providing both audit and advisory services including establishing accounting policies for adoption of new standards and other technical matters. Enjoys spending time outdoors.

Casey is a Managing Director in Deloitte’s Accounting and Internal Controls practice where she is responsible for the firm’s strategy to address emerging risks related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) enablement.

Casey has over 20 years of experience leading client service teams to deliver internal control evaluations for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, SOX readiness and program development, and internal audit services across technology, retail, and healthcare industries.

Casey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration Information Systems from the University of Washington.
