Troy Hyatt, associate professor, is the new chair for the Department of Accountancy. Hyatt received his PhD from the University of Arizona and his B.A. and M.A. from Brigham Young University. Hyatt has taught undergraduate and graduate classes in financial accounting for over 20 years, with his research interest including judgment and decision making in auditing and financial reporting.
“My goal is to keep the accounting program moving forward and building on the great successes we have had in the past,” Hyatt said. “Specifically, I hope we can build on the great relationships we have with the business community through our Accounting Advisory Council and our internship and mentoring programs.”
Prior to teaching, Hyatt worked as an auditor with a Big Four CPA firm and then in the financial reporting department of a publicly-traded company.
