Spring 2025 Commencement Speaker and Student Marshal for the College of Arts and Sciences
Students in the College of Arts and Sciences who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to apply for consideration to be the college’s nominee for Commencement Student Speaker or be selected as the college’s Student Marshal. Completing the application form will allow the applicant to be considered for both opportunities.
Eligibility requirements
- 3.0 GPA minimum
- Graduate in May 2025 with your first baccalaureate or associate degree
- A minimum of 60 credits at Boise State University

Letter of Recommendation
You will need to upload your letter as a PDF file.
Your letter of recommendation should be written by someone (e.g. faculty member) that can share how you are known to your college (College of Arts & Sciences), your department or ASBSU and can speak to your ability to be a positive role model and can describe your public speaking skills/experience.
Commencement Student Speaker Applicant Video Guidelines
Video duration: 1 minute 45 seconds to 2 minutes
You will need to provide a link to your uploaded video. We advise using Google Drive. Remember to change your settings so the committee can view it.
Help the committee understand what you intend to deliver to a broad and dynamic commencement audience. Pitch us your speech. What is the story you want to share with your graduates?
