This program is intended to support and grow graduate education and research and creative activity at Boise State University across the College of Arts and Sciences through recruitment, retention, and completion efforts.
Eligible Requests
Proposals for GA funding should include one or more of the following:
- Awards that attract or leverage investments by others in support of research and creative activity. Examples include tuition waivers when those are not an allowable cost in a research grant.
- Awards that support degree completion by existing PhD students. To be eligible for funds associated with this request please respond to the following questions: (1) When did the PhD student begin their graduate program? (2) What is the expected graduation date? (3) What circumstances have led to the delay in degree completion? (4) What actions are taken to ensure degree completion by the expected graduation date? The response to these questions should be a collaborative effort between the PhD student, the chair of their committee and the graduate program director. As such, the application should be signed by all parties. No more than one semester of support will be provided.
- Bridge funds designated as insurance for graduate students’ support pending from other sources, such as scholarships, GA stipends, or grant proposals. No more than one semester of support will be provided.
