The 2022 Creative Writing MFA Reading Series presents poets Alli Warren and Brandon Brown. They will give a reading at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, in the Hemingway Center Great Hall.
Alli Warren authored the books “Sundial” (Nion Editions, 2022), “Little Hill” (City Lights Publishers, 2020), “I Love It Though” (Nightboat Books, 2017), and “Here Come the Warm Jets” (City Lights Publishers, 2013), as well as over ten chapbooks. Winner of the Poetry Center Book Award, and twice a finalist for the California Book Award, her writing appears in Harpers, Poetry, The Brooklyn Rail and BOMB.
Brandon Brown’s most recent books include “Work” (Atelos) and “The Four Seasons” (Wonder). The co-author, with J. Gordon Faylor, of eight volumes of Christmas poems, most recently “Santa’s Descent,” and a co-editor at Krupskaya, Brown lives in the Bay Area.
Free and open to the public, the Creative Writing MFA Reading Series invites renowned writers and thinkers to campus each fall and spring. Visiting writers give talks, readings of their work and conduct workshops with creative writing students.
