Talk Psych: Does ChatGPT think? Perspectives on artificial intelligence from cognitive and comparative psychology

As part of the Talk Psych research series, Dr. Brian Stone from the Department of Psychological Science will give a talk on the role of cognitive psychology and comparative psychology in creating, researching and using artificial intelligence. He will share his research touching on the use of generative AI in learning and education, machine-learning for misinformation detection, AI alignment with human values, as well as theory of mind and other aspects of social cognition related to AI.
