The Boise State Symphony Orchestra, with guest faculty artists, will perform their Spring concert entitled “Music At A Time of War!” at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, in the Morrison Center Main Hall.
The Boise State Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Craig Purdy, will be joined by guest faculty artists Nicole Molumby, flute; Rachel Becker, oboe; and Zach Buie, trumpet, in a performance of Samuel Barber’s “Capricorn Concerto.” Each of the works featured on this program was written between the war years of 1942-1945.
The program also features Paul Creston’s “Fanfare for Paratroopers,” William Walton’s “Two Pieces for Strings from “Henry the V,” Bohuslav Martinů’s “Memorial to Lidice,” Aaron Copland’s “Variations on A Shaker Melody” and Morton Gould’s “American Salute.”
