Join the Boise State University Symphony Orchestra’s String Section and the Boise State Chamber Orchestra for an evocative evening of music that explores the powerful themes of conflict and resolution.

“Sounds of Unity” weaves together some of the most profound and moving works in the classical repertoire. Experience the beauty and drama of Mascagni’s “Intermezzo” from Cavalleria Rusticana and the haunting intensity of Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony, Op. 110a (arrangement of his String Quartet No. 8 in C minor, Op. 110, completed by Russian conductor and violist Rudolf Barshai in 1960), the passionate elegance of Vivaldi’s Cello Concerto in A minor, RV. 419 featuring Boise State professor and cellist Dr. Brian Hodges and the poignant serenity of Barber’s “Adagio for Strings.”

This concert promises an unforgettable journey through the highs and lows of the human spirit, where the power of music reflects the timeless struggle between war and peace. Don’t miss this unique musical event that will stir your soul and leave you with a lasting impression of hope and resilience.
