Join the Keith and Catherine Stein Luminary for video installations and music by local Boise artist, Sean Dahlman, Nov. 3 – Dec. 2, 2022.

Dahlman, a composer, video artist and desert botanist, started his artistic career composing music for silent movies at The Egyptian and performing in Boise area indie bands. This eventually led him to explore sound visualization through video editing. Using slow motion camera techniques, he creates formations and abstractions without the need of special effects. Dahlman’s work seeks out extreme aesthetics in brief moments, particularly in the ecology of desert and drought. The installation, with soundscapes in the Luminary, results from an artist’s residency, Noce Fresca, in Sardinia.
