Research and Creative Activity in the College of Arts and Sciences
Promoting the healthy, meaningful, sustainable and inclusive growth of research and creative activity
The COAS Research and Creative Activity (RCA) Hub promotes the healthy, meaningful, sustainable and inclusive growth of research and creative activity by providing resources to faculty, postdocs and graduate students that support scholarship. A team of RCA administrators provides administrative support for extramural funds management, both on the front-end by assisting with proposal preparation, and on the back-end by assisting with accounting, hiring, purchasing and travel.
We help build community and transdisciplinary research opportunities across campus, we highlight current research and creative activities and provide travel grant opportunities for faculty and graduate students. We formed the grants management best practices group where research administrators can collaborate and share best practices in extramural fund management.
We work closely with the Division of Research and Economic Development to help faculty navigate funding opportunities, to connect faculty with grant strategists and to let them know about opportunities for training in effective proposal writing. To create a safe working environment in research labs, studios and in the field we are generating safety resources for different flavors of research and creative activity.
