Galla discusses grouse and gyrfalcon research on Idaho Matters

Stephanie Galla

Assistant Professor Stephanie Galla of the Raptor Research Center in the Department of Biological Sciences recently described her research on Columbian sharp-tailed grouse, gyrfalcons and other birds on Boise State Public Radio’s Idaho Matters. Galla’s research as primary investigator in the Conservation Genetics Lab uses DNA to map the story of bird species’ declines. Galla also explains how she believes a kinder approach to science can enhance conservation efforts. The episode “How studying Grouse DNA, and a kinder approach to research, may help declining birds survive” aired on Nov. 19, 2024.
