Emily Wakild, professor and Cecil D. Andrus Endowed Chair of the Environment and Public Lands, recently announced the launch of a new podcast, MoreThan. Recorded with co-host Michelle Berry from the University of Arizona, the podcast explores the environmental history of the United States’ mountain west region. Specifically, the podcast explores a range of “more than human” actors, including coyotes, crickets and ponderosa pines.
“…we think that the past is a very powerful place. We are passionate about sharing it beyond history journals and classrooms and thought a podcast might help,” said Wakild of the goals the podcast aims to achieve. “We have found, in more than two decades of conversations and teaching, that when we put soil, water, insects, beavers and stars at the center of the story of the past, it becomes so much more interesting.”
